MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- November 12, 2014 -- Today, iHealth Lab, Inc. announced that the company is joining the American Diabetes Association® (Association) in their mission to end the devastating toll that diabetes takes on the lives of millions of individuals and families across the United States.

As part of the collaboration, iHealth will begin linking directly from its Gluco-Smart mobile application to educational content from the Association’s Diabetes Forecast Magazine. Through the integration, the Association is providing increased access to its vault of information to improve the habits of the growing audience of people tracking and managing their conditions on-the-go with award-winning mobile glucometers from iHealth. This new expert content will live in the iHealth mobile application, Gluco-Smart, and give users’ access to new information, tips, tricks and expert insight to help manage and proactively treat their diabetes.

“We’re excited to work with the Association and to take another step in our shared mission to stop diabetes,” said Jim Taschetta, CMO and head of retail, iHealth Labs. “Simply tracking health progress is only one part of condition management. By providing direct access to the Association’s educational resources, our users will be better suited to change and adjust their health habits and manage their diabetes.”

Mobile health devices represent a new and fast growing segment of products designed to improve a patient’s ability to manage chronic health conditions like diabetes and hypertension. By collaborating with iHealth, the Association is taking an important step forward to participate in a rapidly growing trend that promises to be an integral component of the future of healthcare.

“Nearly 30 million children and adults in the United States have diabetes. The American Diabetes Association is behind the largest national movement to Stop Diabetes and its deadly consequences and to focus the nation’s attention on these issues and seriousness surrounding diabetes,” said Suzanne Berry, MBA, CAE, Interim CEO, American Diabetes Association. “We’re excited to work with leaders like iHealth, who are pioneering this new generation of mobile enabled blood glucose meters like the iHealth Align and iHealth BG5. These new mobile devices are important tools in the fight to stop diabetes.”

Starting this November, iHealth is further supporting the Association’s mission to Stop Diabetes® by donating a portion of sales from their mobile blood glucose monitoring devices. Specifically, the company will donate $1.70 for every iHealth Align Mobile Glucometer, a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Best of Innovation Honoree, sold and $3.00 for every iHealth BG5, the first wireless mobile Glucometer, sold. The program will run for 12 months, until October 31, 2015, with a minimum contribution of $10,000.  The meters are available for sale at http://ihealthcloud.net, Amazon and select Best Buy stores.
